Choosing Rest: What Season 2 Taught Me
When I started planning Season 2 of Working Girl, I had a goal of releasing ten episodes.
Instead, I'm ending the season after six.
In this special solo episode, I'm reflecting on why I've made that decision, the lessons this season has taught me, and the unexpected thread that connected every conversation.
Over the past several months, I've had the privilege of speaking with women working on the front lines of housing justice, immigration, climate justice, criminal justice reform, gun violence prevention, and reproductive access. While each guest brought a unique perspective, they all shared a common message: meaningful work is only sustainable when we make space to care for ourselves.
As my pregnancy has progressed, I've realized it's time to practice what I've spent an entire season learning.
This episode is a reflection on redefining success, trusting your body, embracing rest, and answering the question I ask every guest: What does hope look like right now?
In this episode, I discuss:
Why I'm ending Season 2 earlier than originally planned
The biggest lesson that emerged across every interview this season
What these remarkable women taught me about burnout, boundaries, and sustainability
Why changing the plan isn't failure—it's growth
My personal answer to the question: What does hope look like right now?
Thank You
To every guest who shared their story, every listener who tuned in each week, and everyone who supported Working Girl this season—thank you. Your encouragement, messages, reviews, and shares have helped this community grow in ways I never imagined.
I'll see you in Season 3.
