In a world where justice feels out of reach,

Working Girl

shines a light on the women who refuse to give up.

Our show spotlights women working in nonprofits, advocacy, and grassroots movements — tackling America’s hardest issues: gun violence, homelessness, reproductive rights, transphobia, racism, healthcare, and beyond.

Through intimate, unfiltered conversations, Working Girl reveals the human side of activism — the exhaustion, the hope, the heartbreak, and the resilience it takes to keep fighting for a better world.

Each episode explores what it means to do this work in a country that often resists change—and how these women find balance, purpose, and joy amidst the chaos.

Whether you’re an organizer, an ally, or just someone trying to stay hopeful, Working Girl invites you to listen deeply, learn with empathy, and take action.

Rachel Mpala

Rachel Mpala is a global creative leader, multidisciplinary storyteller, and activist using conversation as a form of resistance. As the host of Working Girl, she aims to give voice to the women doing the real work to make the world better — those fighting gun violence, homelessness, racism, abortion bans, and injustice in all its forms.

Exhausted by the news but inspired by the women who keep showing up, Rachel created Working Girl to document the emotional cost of activism and celebrate those who refuse to give up. Her vision is rooted in truth-telling, empathy, and the belief that storytelling can drive both understanding and action.

Guided by a deep belief in equity and collective courage, Rachel stands firmly against injustice in all its forms — and believes education and empathy are among our most radical tools for change. Through Working Girl, she hopes to make the unseen seen — and remind us all that change starts with listening.
